Around the World with Mary - Mary Bartnikowski Photography
Machu Picchu, Peru
I wish everyone could see Machu Picchu. It is one of the most powerful places on earth. There are many stories about what it was for and who lived there but its still a mystery. We do know that the bones of 110 women were found buried there but its not conclusive as to why.

I do know that after walking in these stones for 9 hours I felt astonished by life and uplifted being in this holy strata of wonder. Even before I reached the entrance I busted out crying. There is an enchantment that takes over you as you suddenly realize this is no photograph you are inside Machu PIcchu and its bigger than life.

Grateful for the experience, it felt like heaven. Or what I remember heaven to be.
